Trenching into Autumn

Well hello autumn, the year’s last loveliest smile! As many of you who follow me on my Instagram account,@theblondeparfait you would know that I’ve actually been reluctant to welcome fall with open arms, even my spring/summer wardrobe pleaded to come out of retirement. So one day I booked a trip to California to soak up some rays and enjoy what the sunny state had to offer me. Being in SoCal felt like summer all over again, some days the temperature got to a blistering 36 degrees Celsius! I got to see so many new and fascinating things like the museum The Broad which I highly recommend you go check out while you’re in LA as well as The Griffith Observatory and of course the SHOPPING!

Fall is my favourite season for fashion. I particularly love all the different methods of layering, scarves and hats and most of all the COATS. So here I have a stunning camel wool coat that I’ve been dying to show all of you! I got this beauty at a vintage shop in the city at the beginning of summer and just had to have it! This fall staple is in such great condition that it looks like brand new but in actuality it’s from the 60s era! The tailoring of this coat is impeccable and fits me like a glove, I do believe we were meant to be!

Let’s talk about the accessories, shall we? Here I’m wearing my coveted Louis Vuitton handbag in wine (I use this bag a lot in the fall as the dark red compliments my autumn wardrobe hues.) You can find something similar to my bag here. I love how the monogram looks as though it’s stamped on the leather which kind of gives a 3D effect, super cool!

Now for the shoes, I got these sock booties from Winners and can arguably say it was a #FabFind! I’m loving this sock bootie trend right now, when Fendi unveiled their sock booties on the runway last year I’ve been a fan of them ever since. What I love most about these booties is the heel! They are sort of like the bag in a way, where the heel has indentations giving it a geometric 3D look. The silver heel is quite eye catching in the light as you strut yourself down the busy streets! I added a pair of fishnet stockings to my look to give it a cheeky, sophisticated vibe.

Last but not least, the dress! When I first bought my coat I pictured wearing a long dress in a darker colour to contrast with the coat, so when I stumbled upon this gem I knew it would make for a great look. I got the dress from Zara online! I knew I was taking a gamble buying it online, ordering a dress I hadn’t tried on, but Zara is great for returns so I decided to go for it. I wasn’t disappointed and luckily didn’t have to send it back!

So I’ll have to say, Autumn, you’re really not that bad after all! The cool crisp air, along with all the different shades of colourful leaves and flushed cheeks, I can’t help but smile back xoxo.

I love fall as well. What stunning photo’s with all the gorgeous fall colours. Your wool coat, dress & accessories are amazing. I believe fall coats are a huge priority. That is the first item of clothing anyone see’s when you step out…that and a gorgeous handbag. If your coat looks awesome then you know you will want to wear something just as awesome under it…
