In the Gardens

Yesterday was the first day of summer, and what better way to showcase a summery outfit for you all! What a beautiful day it was for a photoshoot down at City Hall in the gardens. I wanted this location because I thought my floral skirt complimented the beautiful blooming flowers throughout the premises. I had gotten this skirt from an Italian boutique in downtown Calgary and was in such awe over the quality and workmanship that I just had to have it. The skirt kind of reminded me of Dolce and Gabbana with the floral and detailed waist. I then added an off the shoulder top that I had gotten from Zara. I love the Spanish and Italian elements to it, therefore my outfit had to be surrounded by beautiful flowers and fountains. For a moment, it felt as though I was transported to a beautiful European city. The landscaping was so impeccably manicured and the flowers smelt so delightfully crisp in the fresh air. Some people were enjoying a book while others were having their afternoon snacks on the green grass. The atmosphere definitely felt like no other.

I was on the hunt for an accessory to complete my look, so I headed towards some of the shops downtown and stumbled across this cute little vintage shop. As I entered the store I was immediately transported but this time to a different era. The music wafted out some old speakers that were playing on cassette tapes. I absolutely loved the vibe in the store that I had to take some photos in there. Peggy was so generous and kind to us. I spotted a red quilted bag from the 70s that I knew was the perfect finishing touch to my look.

As I was leaving, I saw the most perfect wool trench coat from the 60s that I just had to have. This coat is in pristine condition! I was so lucky to have scooped it up. It fits me to a tee! I cannot wait to style it this fall for all of you to see.

Happy summer solstice!

Love always,

J
